Date: Wednesday, January 18, 1995 Time: 4:15 PM Refreshments at 4:00 Location: ERL 126 "The great crash of comet shoemaker-levy 9 with jupiter" Dr. Imke de Pater University of California at Berkeley Abstract In this talk Dr. Pater will show observations obtained with the keck telescope at near-infrared wavelengths, in particular on the impact of fragment R. Dr. Pater will also review results obtained using a world-wide network of radio telescopes, including the VLA. To put the data in perspective, a few results from other telescopes and satellites/spacecraft will be shown as well.
