AGO ELF/VLF Narrowband Calibration Formulas

In order to convert the digital output of the ELF/VLF channels into the equivalent electric field intensity, each stage of the
system must be analyized. These formulas where derived with help from the original calibration worksheets.

The Wave Electric Field Intensity is converted to a voltage at the preamp based on the parameters of the loop antenna:

The Line Receiver has an internal gain as well as a front panel adjustable gain:

The Filter stage also has an internal gain and adjustable gains:

The Detector/Integrator stage outputs a DC voltage with a level shift:

The output is then digitized to a 12-bit number:
