VLF Research at Palmer Station

Located on Anvers Island on the Antarctic Peninsula, Palmer Station is one of three permanent American research stations in Antarctica. The VLF Group has had a presence at this station since 1978. Data recording of global lightning events, VLF transmitters, and magnetospheric phenomena continue today and provide the Stanford VLF group with a large percentage of its Antarctic data.
